Assignment 3
I'm not seeing a whole ton of activity on this Blog. I may be a procrastonator, but I try to get it done!
See everyone this eve.
Cheers!
Assignment 2- The Alien

Show it a Picture of Steven Wright
Comedy Central would be dressed like Perry Ferrell in his Red Carpet gear. (See: picture)
Comedy Central would live at the YMCA, but sleep on the couch at his friend’s apartment most of the time.
I actually think that Comedy Central would have decent taste in Music, but most often listen to Bands like Ween, The Dead Milkmen, The beta Band, and Kraftwerk.
Comedy Central would love all the Chris Farley movies.
Comedy Central would be a friend of mine, but it wouldn’t be my couch he was always crashed out on. I’d like having him around for entertainment purposes only. I am not Comedy Central, but I do have a friend who is.
I would show the Alien a picture of Cartman’s Ass (Pictured Above) and this picture of John Stewart (Also Above), to represent Comedy Central.
I would show the Alien South Park, The Daily Show, and the Sarah Silverman Show. I would show him these shows because I think they represent the best of Comedy Central. The shows really speak for themselves.

Assignment 1

What you would have is a show that features normal people who think they are funny, who get to perform as individuals and then as part of an Improv team. Winners could be crowned in different categories like best solo performance, best individual in a team, and then overall teams would be crowned. At the end of the year, you could have an Improv playoff with all of the former champions competing against each other (like champions week on Jeopardy).
So, it would be like an American Idol-ish, Jeopardy-ish, Who’s line-ish kind of show. You could have celebrity Judges mixed with Audience voting. You could even have the audience split up into two sides, each representing one team, and involve them in some way that could affect the outcome of the competition. (Best Audience Joke, best audience performance, etc…) There are plenty of variables that could be pulled from the concept. If I had more time, I could probably write for hours.
Anyone could watch it, but I would think it would be more of an adult show, with plenty of bleeps and edits. I’m guessing sometimes it would be hysterical, and other times it wouldn’t be that funny at all. (Just like real Improv. But people would still watch it just to see how bad it can be [like the Gong show]). However, I think that with the right subject matter, the right contestants and the right energy, it would still be pretty entertaining. It would help if there was something tangible to win. I’m guessing that sponsorship could take care of that…. So add in there Wheel of Fortune-ish and Price is Right – ish.
Yep, that would be my show. I’d have Sarah Silverman and Louis Guzman involved. (Pictured Above)

Hello Everyone,
Robear here, Robert Sharp formally. I can only hope that I am doing this right. I have never Blogged before, and while it doesn't seem like rocket science, I still find myself a little confused on what the H$&% I'm supposed to be doing.
Actually, I know what I should be doing... working at my real job, but whats the point of that?
O.K.,
Robert Sharp
33 (34 next week)
I work in Executive Search in Manhattan
My passions are plenty, but include: Building businesses, making music, and playing sports.
I'm a part time music producer and DJ, I play semi-pro baseball, I play in a basketball league, and I play in a men's football league. I also own a Men's Accessories Company called Triple-O-Squared, and I'm working on another business TBD.
I watch South Park and The Daily Show more than any other Comedy Central Shows. However, the roasts are great, and I often will stop on CC when I see stand-up.
The pictures above are me, and the one on the right is my attempt at showing my sense of humor. I went with this one because I am not sure the naked ones are allowed. I hope this covers everything I needed to accomplish on this first Blog-O-Mine. Cheers!

Assignment 2
• If you were to describe it as a person, how would you describe it? Why? Everybody has that really stupid friend, and that would be CC. While you're not sure the actual purpose of his/her existence, it's funny as hell to hear what comes out of their mouth.
• What kind of clothes would Comedy Central wear? A kilt, traditional commando style. Like Willy. And a pot leave t shirt.
• Where would Comedy Central live? In his mom's basement.
• What kind of music would it listen to? Weird Al.
• Which movies would it love?Dumb & Dumber...on a loop.
• Would Comedy Central be a friend of yours? Why or why not? Is Comedy Central you? Comedy central would be my friend because he makes me laugh. Like a clown. I'm definately not CC, I've got bills to pay and CC just drinks all day.
• What are 2 images would you show it to represent Comedy Central?Dave Chappel - Black White Supremacist and Sarah Silverman. The latter because she's hot and I'd hit that.
• What is 1 YouTube clip would you show them that represents the entertainment you find on Comedy Central (doesn’t have to be from a Comedy Central show)? SNL - Cowbell.
• What are 3 shows you would tell them about? What would you tell them about each show? Why?
William Shatner Roast - Because comedians are a depraved bunch. These roasts are a good way to get a general picture of which comedians are hot at the time.
Crank Yankers - Because people are the funniest when they aren't trying to be.
South Park - Well I'd try to explain it but have you ever tried to explain a South Park episode? "So there's this towel...but he smokes weed" or "So these two handi-capable kids are joining a gang..." It's impossible to convey the absurdity and genius without watching it.
Assignment 1: My Show
Assignment 2, Death to Aliens
First off I would simply kill the alien, all aliens are evil. I donot trust them.
• If you were to describe it as a person, how would you describe it? Why?Comedy Central would be the funny guy at a bar. Just sitting, relaxin, and makin other people laugh.
• What kind of clothes would Comedy Central wear?A Stewart, Colbert, 08 shirt of course!
• Where would Comedy Central live?Everyone is making Comedy Central live in NYC, but Comedy Central tome is definitely West Coast. I think overall it is a little toopolitical to be a NY'er.
• What kind of music would it listen to?Something I probably haven't heard of yet.
• Would Comedy Central be a friend of yours? Why or why not? Is ComedyCentral you?I would be friend with Comedy Central until it started talkingpolitics, then I would go get another beer and let him finish up.
• Which movies would it love?Classic Comedies, Animal House, Ghostbusters. Good modern comedies,Anchorman, Superbad, Reno 911 in Miami, and I also think it would likegreat unintentional comedies, like Roadhouse.
• What are 2 images would you show it to represent Comedy Central?I would show an image from South Park, the show that made comedycentral what it is.I would also show an imagine of Dave Chappelle as Prince.
• What is 1 YouTube clip would you show them that represents theentertainment you find on Comedy Central (doesn't have to be from aComedy Central show)?
Not sure if it is on you tube, but I would have to show a clip of thefamous, "I'm Ric James Bitch!!" Chappelle show
• What are 3 shows you would tell them about? What would you tell themabout each show? Why?
South Park - Classic
Chappelle's Show – a short run, but probably the funniest thing thatwas ever on TV
Jim Gaffigan Beyond the Pale – I know, it was a special not a show, but the alien would have to learn about stand up comedy, and thisrecent special was hilarious.

assignment 2: too many parts to this assignment
. hilarious. anyway, i would describe to this alien that comedy central was a channel devoted to social and political satire as well off the cuff and often uncouth humor (such as my above youtube link). As a person, comedy central is always good for a laugh. For some reason I feel like we're all going to automatically make our comedy central person a guy, so i'm gonna go ahead and make comedy central a girl. She's really hot, but she doesn't know it, which makes her hotter. she loves wearing jeans and a white wife-beater and is really just one of the guys. she lives in the LES because she's really down to earth and unpretentious. and sarcastic. she's so sarcastic. sexy. she's open to listening to any type of music, so long as it's not pop music (which makes her cooler than me cuz i'm a sucker for popular beats). she loves the big lebowski and loves drinking white russians while the dude does. i hope i meet her one day. if i do i'm so not introducing her to that alien. he probably has powers to steal her from me. i hate aliens.
assignment1 LOCKER ROOM
The majority of the show takes place in a high rise residential building’s health spa, in the men’s locker room. Parts of it will also take place in the gym, the sauna, and the front desk of the spa. The premise of the show is two best friends in their early twenties having raw, humorous, everyday conversations on everything from religion to sex. There are other members of the spa, ranging in all ages, who join in on the talks from time to time, some of which will be hilarious characters that the two friends are just dieing to make fun of. Which they will when their alone. Others characters will astound the 2 friends with good advice and life experiences. The show will contain a lot of dialogue.
The show would work best as a late night series running from 20 - 25 minutes in length, one night a week. The target audience for this show would be men ages 20-50
The Alien on Earth
ASSIGNMENT TWO
If an alien were to land on Earth and you had to explain what Comedy Central was, what would you show it?
• If you were to describe it as a person, how would you describe it? Why?
• What kind of clothes would Comedy Central wear?
• Where would Comedy Central live?
• What kind of music would it listen to?
• Which movies would it love?
• Would Comedy Central be a friend of yours? Why or why not? Is Comedy Central you?
• What are 2 images would you show it to represent Comedy Central?
• What is 1 YouTube clip would you show them that represents the entertainment you find on Comedy Central (doesn’t have to be from a Comedy Central show)?
• What are 3 shows you would tell them about? What would you tell them about each show? Why?
As always, any questions let me know. Looking forward to speaking with all of you later this week.

My new show
I think this show would work as it would be more interesting than any celebrity interview show. A few drinks seem to always losen up a celeb, or anyone for that manner. Also the celeb might be more likely to be candid as they are in a more comfortable environment, rather than in a studio.

Tell Em Why You Mad!! The Jeremy Story!!
Friday, February 29, 2008
Awesome - thanks for saying hello everyone!
Andrew, I could watch a bunch of high guys just hanging out - it'd probably be hilarious.
Question: what kinds of things / activities would they do to make it hilarious and off the wall?

Assignment 1
ASSINGMENT ONE: IF YOU HAD A SHOW...
IF YOU HAD A SHOW ON COMEDY CENTRAL, WHAT WOULD THAT SHOW BE AND WHY WOULD IT BE THAT WAY?
• What is the premise of your show? What’s it about?
• What would be the purpose of the show? Would it provide social commentary?
• Who would watch the show? Why would they watch it?
• Who would some of the other characters be?
• Would it be based on your life? Perhaps something that is far from your life?
• Is your show a series that continues from show to show, season to season? Or are they one-offs that are not in a series?
The bullets are just thought starters. You don’t have to answer them in order; in fact you don’t even have to answer them if you have a different way to bring your show idea to life. And, if come across an image or video on the internet that helps bring your show idea to life, please include it.
As always, let me know if you have any questions along the way.
Thanks,
McKay

What's going on everyone?!!
Monday, February 25, 2008
Greetings
If you like The Beer Garden, don't miss Radegast in Williamsburg. I think it has the same owners. No better place in the city to get your liter on with some great German and Czech beer.
Hey
I'm Andrew originally from Chicago. I live down on Houston with my two college buddies. We all went to Michigan and are huge fans. Huge in the sense that we are crazy fans, not huge in physical stature. I'm an actor, and since that doesn't cut it yet I'm also a personal trainer. And since that doesn't cut it yet, I'm doing this focus group. I was originally pulled into watching Comedy Central because I think Jon Stewart is brilliant. I didn't get to see his monologue at the Oscars - heard it wasn't great though. Looking forward to meeting y'all. I think northern people should use "y'all" by the way. The rednecks got it right. It's really easier and sounds cooler to just say y'all instead of "you guys". Take it or leave it.
Hello
Please allow me to indroduce myself....
My favorite Comedy Central show is South Park. Looking forward to new episodes starting up now that the writer's strike is over.

Hi everyone, my name is McKay and I'll be posting assignments and asking questions.
I'll go first in introducing myself and telling you all a little bit about me.
I work in advertising and research for a company in NYC. I love my job because I get to spend all day learning about different types of people and what they love in their lives.
I live in Manhattan with 2 roommates. They are my friends from college. I'm a huge sports fan and try to get together with friends after work. I also love to check out new bars and restaurants in the city.
I like watching Comedy Central because it always makes me laugh, and totally helps me relax after work. Plus, I love talking about some of the shows with my friends the next day.
Since I work in advertising, I decide to include a link to this commercial which I think is great because I love sports and I think it's a cool way to capture the competitiveness that I love.
