Andrew, I could watch a bunch of high guys just hanging out - it'd probably be hilarious.

Question: what kinds of things / activities would they do to make it hilarious and off the wall?

Assignment 1

Think it would be hilarious to have a show about 3 roommates who are high the entire show.  It would be premise-less, kind of like Seinfeld, but they're high the whole time.  Some of my favorite scenes in movies depict people who are high, the beginning of Supertroopers for example.  Don't know how much long term appeal that show would have, but it might be funny.  It could cover a range of topics, from serious to trivial, all through the eyes of 3 high guys.  It would likely appeal to a younger crowd, and while funny, it could still comment on real issues.   Hmm, think I might actually write that one...

ASSINGMENT ONE: IF YOU HAD A SHOW...

Hey everyone. Thanks for all of your posts so far. Sounds like we have pretty smart group of people here so I'm going to start off with a question that is a little more challenging:

IF YOU HAD A SHOW ON COMEDY CENTRAL, WHAT WOULD THAT SHOW BE AND WHY WOULD IT BE THAT WAY?
• What is the premise of your show? What’s it about?
• What would be the purpose of the show? Would it provide social commentary?
• Who would watch the show? Why would they watch it?
• Who would some of the other characters be?
• Would it be based on your life? Perhaps something that is far from your life?
• Is your show a series that continues from show to show, season to season? Or are they one-offs that are not in a series?

The bullets are just thought starters. You don’t have to answer them in order; in fact you don’t even have to answer them if you have a different way to bring your show idea to life. And, if come across an image or video on the internet that helps bring your show idea to life, please include it.

What's going on everyone?!!

Hey everyone, I read everyone's post and it seems like we are a pretty interesting group. My name is Jeremy. I am 25 and live in Floral Park, NY. I work in finance for Citigroup/ Smith Barney. Ive been in finance for a little more than a year now. I watch comedy central and usually DVR the Colbert Report, the Daly Show, love South Park and whatever else I catch. I like one of the others in this group am a Steelers fan. I'd also like to say GO YANKEES!!! Cant wait for the new stadium. I look forward to meeting everyone and reading your postings. Take care!

My name is Dave and I live in here in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. No, I don't dress up to go dancing at "the club" on Saturday night but thank you for asking. My main interest is of the malted barley family as I'm a beer snob and avid homebrewer. What better to go with making and drinking beer? If you guessed yoga and marathons, you're close. It's actually watching TV and movies. The two channels on my favorites are Comedy Central and Military Channel. The latter only because there is no better way to enter a slumber that than with a soundtrack of Wings of the Luftswaffe. Besides my daily dose of Jon Stewart, I've been a long time fan of South Park, "I hate you Kenney..." Drawn Together and more recently Reno 911. While one of my favorites, Crank Yankers, hasn't seen airtime in years, I do get my dose of "That's just plain wrong but I can't stop laughing" from whatever is on the Secret Stash on late weekend nights. If I have one complaint of the channel is that is it always a few click louder than the rest. Whenever I turn on The Daily Show I always have to turn the volume down.

If you like The Beer Garden, don't miss Radegast in Williamsburg. I think it has the same owners. No better place in the city to get your liter on with some great German and Czech beer.

I'm Andrew originally from Chicago. I live down on Houston with my two college buddies. We all went to Michigan and are huge fans. Huge in the sense that we are crazy fans, not huge in physical stature. I'm an actor, and since that doesn't cut it yet I'm also a personal trainer. And since that doesn't cut it yet, I'm doing this focus group. I was originally pulled into watching Comedy Central because I think Jon Stewart is brilliant. I didn't get to see his monologue at the Oscars - heard it wasn't great though. Looking forward to meeting y'all. I think northern people should use "y'all" by the way. The rednecks got it right. It's really easier and sounds cooler to just say y'all instead of "you guys". Take it or leave it.

My name is Michael. I also live in Astoria with my girlfriend. I work for Donald Trump, seriously. I like sports too, glad the Giants won but I'm more of a Steelers fan because I grew up near there. Beer Garden is cool, but a little overcrowded. I'm into film, going to galleries and museums, snow boarding, starting to get into sailing. I like Comedy Central because I like comedy which is raw and edgy, stuff that you just can't believe you heard on TV but you're dying laughing because it's true.

hello fellow team members. My name is Matt and I am from Queens, NY. I am married and my wife and I live in Astoria. I am attorney that currently works in LIC for an insurance company. My hobbies and interests include rooting for the Super Bowl Champion NY Giants, sparring at my karate dojo on the Upper West Side, video games, and getting a drink, or 5, at the legendary beer garden in Astoria.

My favorite Comedy Central show is South Park. Looking forward to new episodes starting up now that the writer's strike is over.

Hi everyone, my name is McKay and I'll be posting assignments and asking questions.

I'll go first in introducing myself and telling you all a little bit about me.

I work in advertising and research for a company in NYC. I love my job because I get to spend all day learning about different types of people and what they love in their lives.

I live in Manhattan with 2 roommates. They are my friends from college. I'm a huge sports fan and try to get together with friends after work. I also love to check out new bars and restaurants in the city.

I like watching Comedy Central because it always makes me laugh, and totally helps me relax after work. Plus, I love talking about some of the shows with my friends the next day.

Since I work in advertising, I decide to include a link to this commercial which I think is great because I love sports and I think it's a cool way to capture the competitiveness that I love.
